Desire for God
"The desire for God is written in the human heart, because man is created by God and for God" (Catechism of the Catholic Church 27). Wanting to know the truth about our existence and the meaning of the universe is what makes us human. As St. Augustine famously said, our hearts will remain "restless" until they rest in the peace of God.
God's Desire For Us
Sacred Scripture reveals to us the great love story between man and God, showing us who we are, how to live, and where we are going. For nearly 2000 years the Catholic Church has taught that God's deep love for us is proven most fully through the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Transformation
The RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) experience is a profound, but gradual, process of conversion to the Catholic faith, and an integration into the liturgical life of the Church. The process typically culminates at the Easter Vigil Mass where candidates receive the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist).
